Solar Plexus 101: Why This Energy Center Matters
Your solar plexus chakra (the 3rd chakra) is located in your upper abdomen and is closely linked to digestion—both physical and emotional. It governs:
Willpower & confidence
Boundaries & personal power
Mental clarity & energy
Your ability to digest life, not just food
An underactive solar plexus can show up as bloating, sluggish digestion, low energy, or poor boundaries.
An overactive solar plexus may show as acid reflux, anxiety, perfectionism, or burnout.
We often forget that our gut is not just a digestion machine—it’s an emotional center. “Leaky gut” isn’t just about food—it can stem from leaky energy: overgiving, overdoing, oversharing, or ignoring your own needs.
To balance this chakra, we need to nourish not just our bodies, but our energy—and food is a beautiful way to do that.
Solar Plexus-Supportive Foods
Here are a few yellow, orange, and digestion-friendly foods that can support solar plexus healing:
Yellow fruits: bananas, mangoes, pineapple, papaya, golden apples
Orange veggies: carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, pumpkin
Warming herbs/spices: ginger, turmeric, cinnamon
Fermented foods (if tolerated): sauerkraut, kimchi, coconut yogurt
Healthy fats: olive oil, coconut oil, ghee, pumpkin seeds
Herbal teas: chamomile, peppermint, ginger, lemon balm
